Terms of Service

Last updated: September 4, 2026

The service

Trip with Sumi ("we," "us") operates tripwithsumi.com and offers Seoul, Retold: a personalized book made from a trip you've already taken, combining your own photos and story with writing in the style of the Seoul, Curated guidebook series. We do not plan, book, or arrange any part of your trip — our service begins only after your trip is complete.

Placing an order

You place an order by submitting your trip details, photos, and personal stories through the site, choosing a format (eBook, hardcover, or bundle) and paying the price shown at checkout, which is all-inclusive (shipping for physical orders is calculated and shown before you pay). Payment is processed by PayPal; we never see your card or PayPal login details.

Content you send us

By submitting photos and stories, you confirm that you have the right to share them with us and that doing so doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. You grant us a limited license to use your photos and stories solely to produce your personalized book — we do not use them for our own marketing or any other purpose without asking you separately first.

What you receive

eBook orders are delivered as a digital file by email. Hardcover and bundle orders are printed and shipped by our print-on-demand partner; typical production and shipping timelines will be communicated after you order. The finished book is for your personal use — it's not licensed for resale or commercial redistribution.

Cancellations and refunds

  • Before we start writing: you may cancel and receive a full refund any time before we begin producing your book.
  • eBook: because it's a personalized digital product delivered immediately upon completion, eBook orders are non-refundable once delivered, except where the file is defective or doesn't match what you ordered.
  • Hardcover / bundle: because each book is custom-made to your order, we're unable to offer refunds once production has started, except for printing defects or an error on our part. If your book arrives damaged or defective, contact us and we'll make it right.

Because your book is made specifically for you, you'll be asked to confirm you understand this cancellation policy with a checkbox at checkout, before you pay — separate from simply agreeing to these Terms.

Intellectual property

Text drawn from the Seoul, Curated book series remains the copyright of Trip with Sumi / Sumi Kim. Your own photos and personal stories remain yours. The combined, finished book is licensed to you for personal use only.

Limitation of liability

We do our best to produce an accurate, high-quality book from what you send us, but we can't guarantee it will be free of every error, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your order. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of the Republic of Korea.
